Do you wear your heart on your sleeve? I know I have a tendency to. I trust people quickly and proceed with sharing the abundant love in my heart with those around
me. I want to uplift people and help others. I want to live, love, laugh, and cry together. It is generally very rewarding to give your love and lead with love. Love is the source energy of all life anyway, right?
I have also learned that we need to use discretion when sharing love because you need to be careful where you invest your emotional equity. In other words, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it," (Proverbs 4:23).
Then I think Wait! Wait! I'm supposed to love my neighbor, but also guard my heart? How do I know when to love and when to guard? This can be a challenging balance for us to achieve.
I know from my experience, I try to start out giving my love, while aiming to maintain awareness and presence of mind. Observe your interactions with people and trust your intuition about those people whose energy aligns with yours and those that do not. As you gain a sense of understanding if your "chemistry" with others is a fit, then continue with giving love.
If it is not a good energy connection you can be nice, but also guard your heart and not bend over backwards trying to make something where it is not. Trust the natural instinct and guard your heart.
In the end, you are the only one who knows your emotional spectrum and boundaries. You should act with integrity, respect for yourself and be honest with yourself about what you are thinking and feeling. I encourage you to be aware of your heart and act according to your personal boundaries and the guidance of your intuition because you can!
