How do you deal with the challenges in life? How do you see a goal through to the end? In other words, how do you persevere?
I can't understand perseverance while I'm in the moment, but when I look back, I can see how I persevered through and to the other side of something. Every time I've become a better person and learned things I wouldn't give back. I wouldn't always wish for an experience again, since many things through which we must persevere are personal trials.
When it comes to a challenge, you must have faith and hope for what is on the other side. You must also have or develop patience, so you can wait through stress or discomfort. Often times, challenges come as a result of your own bad decisions and still other times, they are completely out of your control. You may have cut corners financially and are now dealing with debt or you could find out you have an illness that will take time to heal.
When it comes to reaching a goal, many of the same qualities apply. You need faith and hope that you are doing the right thing, and you need patience to achieve incremental steps to get to your goal.
Perseverance isn't easy, but it is a virtue. If you are struggling with anything right now, I want to encourage you to stick with it. If you are trying to stick to a New Year's Resolution, decide to work on it immediately. Have hope and persevere. You can!
