It always surprised me how these delicious foods seemed to magically appear and look as though they were completely effortless. I wasn’t entirely wrong. These pork chops and the paprika cream sauce are both simple and delicious. The main effort comes from preparing, monitoring and stirring the sauce.

Ingredients
The ingredients make your meal, especially when you’re eating keto, so be sure to get good ones. I taste test many products and vendors to find the ones I like the best. Depending on what it is, I choose to fork up money or not. I consume so much heavy whipping cream, like is used in this recipe, that I buy it by the quart. It’s not possible to find organic heavy cream in quart sizes, so I buy conventional cream for my major cooking and save my favorite, Organic Valley Heavy Whipping Cream, for my coffee and tea and sometimes whipped cream!
Most of these ingredients are pretty basic. In my opinion, I aim for high quality meat so it isn’t tough, good butter like Kerrygold grass-fed butter, and organic heavy cream. Then, the rest is pretty basic and should be a nice balance to splurge on those main ingredients.
Pork Chop Ingredients
- 4 bone-in center cut pork chops cut about 1 inch thick
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
Keto Paprika Cream Sauce Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons chopped scallions
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons sage
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- additional white pepper optional
Instructions
The pork chops are pretty simple; season, sear and bake. The sauce, on the other hand, can be a little harder. Sauces can be intimidating, but they’re worth learning to make when you want to add flavor to your keto diet. I confess, I mess most of them up the first time I make them, but that’s how we learn. Fortunately, with time, I’ve learned to tweak my results around the recipe to get the exact flavor I want or to rescue a sauce that’s on it’s way down the drain.
For that reason, I recommend starting with low heat until you add the heavy cream at the end. Then, turn up the heat to medium-high and stir, stir, stir until you get your desired consistency. This sauce doesn’t call for a super thick reduction, but it is thicker than cold cream, too. And, be sure to taste it as you go. You can always add more cream to mellow it out or more wine to give it tartness tartness. You can also add water to thin it out or salt and pepper to give it color. There are so many things you can do to fine tune your sauces and get so much out of your keto diet that your friends will wish they were keto, too!
Instructions for Baked Pork Chops
- Season with seasoned salt, Worcestershire sauce and paprika.
- Drizzle olive oil in a cast iron skillet and heat it on high. Then, when the skillet is very hot, sear the pork chops on both sides.
- Place the pork chops in a pan, cover with foil and seal.
- Bake in the oven at 350 for about 35 minutes for medium up to 45 minutes for well done.
Keto Paprika Cream Sauce Instructions
-
- Melt the butter and sauté the scallions.
- Over medium heat, mix all the ingredients up to the whipping cream over low heat. Then, when onions are sautéed, add 1 cup whipping cream and turn the heat up to medium or medium-high. Keep in mind that you can’t walk away from your sauce because it’s likely to scald. Constantly stir it.
- Salt and pepper to taste. At this point, I like to add white pepper here to maintain the integrity of the sauce’s color. This is also a good time to start tasting to sauce to see if ite seems too tart or overpowered by the sage. If you need to, simply add more cream to take tartness out of the taste.
- Then, stir constantly over the medium heat, and allow the sauce to reduce and thicken. This recipe yields about one cup of cream sauce. It’s ideal for serving 4, and you can multiply as needed.
- Serve the pork chop topped with the sauce or serve over zucchini noodles and top with Dana Carpender’s Hongos Chipotles Recipe from her cookbook 200 Low-Carb, High-Fat Recipes
