The first step to manifesting your dreams and desires is to get clear about what you want. Think about it, feel it, and most importantly write it down. There is something so powerful in putting pen to paper when getting clear about your desires. You can type it up on your computer if that is easier. Mostly, put your wants down and be as specific as possible.
If you find you've been aiming without direction in your career, sit down and write what you'd like to see happen in your career. Do you want a raise? Do you want a
promotion? Do you wish to increase your responsibility on your current project or switch to a different project or company? Whatever it is, get clear about it and write it down.
The first thing to remember about being clear about what you want is that you should be honest with yourself about what you want. Your wants are your desires, and you can make them whatever you want them to be no matter how far out they may seem. If you want it and desire it, put it down and feel it as if it has already happened.
Once you are done thinking about your desires and being honest with yourself, you need to write down what you want. There are nine major areas of life for you to get clear about. Make a list for each one. The areas are based on the book, The On-Purpose Person by Evin W. McCarthy. Subdivide them if you need to be clearer. For example, instead of rolling all relationships under one category, address your family relationships, your perfect partner, you working relationships, and your friendships individually. I spend time every three months putting together a purpose tournament to help me discover my primary wants and desires in each category.
The major areas of your life to get clear about are:
- Financial/Material/Wealth/Money
- Vocational/Career/Work
- Social/Community/Relationships
- Family
- Physical/Health/Body/Recreational
- Mental/Intellectual/Emotional
- Spiritual
- Personal Desires
- Other
Once you write what it is that you want, take it one step further by using gratitude and love to get as specific and clear as possible about your wants. The practice of gratitude is based on Rhonda Byrne's book, The Secret, the Bible and many other wise teachings. Write what you are grateful for already having in the same nine areas. Be as specific as you can when writing both your desires and what you are grateful for having. When you put all your creativity into it and apply the blessings of gratitude, it makes the desires feel as if they have already happened, and they will manifest faster in your life.
Get clear about what you want because you can!
