I love Rhonda Shasteen's powerful wisdom so much, that it inspired me to write a book to capture her insights on life. I've decided to offer Views from the 13th Floor for $13 to give more people an opportunity to learn and grow from Rhonda just as I have.
Below is a sample from the book and an example of the kinds of things we can all learn from the marvelous, Rhonda Shasteen.
Q13: You do a great job of this, and I wonder: How do you approach being a solid leader, while still being a gracious person?
A: Get yourself out of the way. You must have a mindset of personal accountability, but things are no longer about you. You must be others-focused. There are those who are not gracious leaders. It’s not hard to tell when someone has a personal agenda, which kills leaders. Part of being a strong leader means demonstra-ting you know it’s important to show care and concern for others. Practice “servant leadership” to help others succeed. Through serving others as their leader, you exhibit the graciousness that stimulates their positive energy and willingness to follow you. When they know you genuinely care about them as individuals, you’ll find you have more support when you need to do something that is difficult or unpopular.
