Although it's easy to get into a negative thought pattern, it's almost as easy to get out of one. I've learned it takes far less energy to choose to be happy than it is to allow your negative feelings to flow. When I'm feeling cranky or down, I try to think of things I'm grateful for about a situation or about life in general to help turn my frown upside down.
Here is a list of things to think about to help you be more positive. Not every item on the list will apply to everyone, but some or most of them will.
- Having parents who love you
- Having all your limbs
- Having all your senses
- Being free of medications
- Having a job
- Having food, water and general access to nutrition
- Having a mode of transportation
- Having access to medical care
- Having a healthy child
- Having a place to sleep.
I hope you get the idea and move into a positive flow as you think of things you have to be grateful for today because you can!
